Who's Supporting Freedom of Speech and the Right of Americans to Protect Themselves?

I'll give you a hint. It ain't the Democrats. According to this article in the Washington Times, linked to by way of Michelle Malkin,
House Republicans are pushing legislation to protect airline passengers from lawsuits for reporting suspicious behavior that might be linked to a terrorist attack.
Rep. Steve Pearce, New Mexico Republican, introduced the Protecting Americans Fighting Terrorism Act of 2007 on Thursday, a week after a lawsuit was filed by a group of Muslim imams who were taken off a US Airways flight in November.
It is "unconscionable" that those who report suspicious activity could be "terrorized in our own court system in our own country," Mr. Pearce said on the House floor yesterday afternoon.
The lawsuit asserts that the imams were discriminated against by US Airways, the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan Airports Commission and "John Doe" passengers to be named later.
It's good to see a few brave lawmakers stepping up to the plate to allow American citizens to protect ourselves from the fate of the Europeans.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am pleased that NM Pearce introduced this. Being on the border of Mexico. New Mexicans have witnessed the large invasion of our borders. I know that our enemies(terrorist) have used our southern border. I pray that our border was more secure, but it is not. I have written about the border and its issues on my blog. Standing up against any acting suspicious, should be a line of defense, but when our border patrol agents go to prison for protecting our border, I don't see this legislation passing too soon.
Have you ever checked out gatewaypundit.blogspot.com? It is a great site, and many times has things that even drudge doesn't have.

Well best of luck with your school,

Interesting. i know several, at least 12 Middle eastern guys were caught crossing the southern border all with Venezuelan papers and passports. however, my son, who is Venezuelan has not been able to renew his passport since last May. Because he is of voting age and likely to vote against the regime.

Jennifer,
I liked your site and I shall return. As for protecting our borders, that's only one of the things our government is neglecting. How about stop pandering to CAIR and other Muslim pressure groups? I've been to Gateway Pundit. I'm not sure why I don't have them linked.

Jungle Mom,
Has your son tried phony papers of his own? If they think he is a criminal, they may accept him as a friend of Hugo.
