What is Freedom?

In the latest issue of Imprimis, there is an interview with Clarence Thomas. In response to one of the questions, Thomas says,
What my grandfather believed was that people have their responsibilities, and that if they are left alone to fulfill their responsibilities, that is freedom.
I don't have anything to add to that. I will say though, that if you don't already subscribe to Imprimis, you should. It's free, and it's continually thought-provoking. Unlike so much else that shows up in my mailbox, it's worth paying for.

Oh yeah, read the rest of the interview.
