A Water Carrier for Carter

Jimmy Carter writes an anti-Israel book so dishonest that even Democrats are distancing themselves from it. But leave it to the Detroit News to find someone degraded by hate enough to write an editorial in support of Carter's book.

Jew-hatred has many faces, the psychotic, like Ahmadinejad, and the calm, like this bit of factual distortion and turnspeak. The thesis of the article like that of Carter's book is: Blame the Jews. It doesn't matter how viciously Hamas or any of the other Muslim terror groups attack Israeli civilians. Those constant and inhuman attacks are ignored. It doesn't matter that every "fact" mustered for this piece of tripe can be refuted with a five minute google search. No, all that matters is that Israel, and by extension, the Jews, be blamed for the "plight of the Palestinians." It seems that, according to Carter, and his Jew-hating supporters, Palestinians bear no responsibility for the fact that they have created one of the most debased societies on Earth. Every dysfunction in Palestinian society is blamed on Israel.

The fact that they celebrate mothers who encourage their children to murder Jews and laud these murderers as heroes tells us that this is not a society that shares our values of liberty, peace, justice, and personal freedom. The fact that an American, pretending to be a moral human being can, with a straight face, support these twisted freaks, makes me think that some in this country are willing to put their personal hatred above humanity and morality.
This year also saw many Palestinian-Americans denied entry by Israel to the occupied territories to visit families, or attend weddings and/or funerals. And then there's the ugly concrete wall, built far into Palestinian territory under the guise of security, ruled illegal by the International Court of Justice in 2004. Laypeople who've seen it nickname it the Apartheid Wall.

Nobody expects instant miracles to come from Carter's book, but hopefully, it will spark the sort of robust discussions that even Israeli society and media already engage in -- discussions that many are fearful to raise in our own country for fear of being labeled "anti-Semitic."
The only truthful statement in the article is that, yes, it is an ugly concrete wall. If this idiot wants to get a discussion started, lets begin with: If the Palestinians ended their perpetual state of war against Israel, the barrier would come down tomorrow.

But that's too easy, and it would be one less problem to blame on the Jews.

And by the way, if your entire argument is, blame the Jews, then yes, you are anti-semitic. That's the same argument used by the Nazis, the Communists, the Czar, the Spanish during the Inquisition, Mohammed and the Koran, the basis of the Blood Libel, and the Church for almost 2000 years.
